    WARRANTY PERIOD
All new Yamaha snowmobiles purchased from an authorized Yamaha dealer in the customer's country of residence (United States or Canada) and registered with Yamaha shall be warranted against defects in material and workmanship, subject to the exclusions stated herein, for the following stated period of time:

    • All Yamaha snowmobiles shall be warranted for a term of one (1) year from the date of purchase, plus a special early-season extension (if applicable).
    • All Yamaha snowmobile clutch components are warranted against normal wear for a period of three (3) months, or 1250 miles (2000 km), whichever comes first.
    • All Yamaha snowmobile batteries are warranted for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase.

DURING THE PERIOD OF WARRANTY any authorized Yamaha Snowmobile dealer, shall, free of charge, repair or replace, at Yamaha's option, any part adjudged defective by Yamaha due to faulty workmanship or material from the factory. Parts used in warranty repairs will be warranted for the balance of the warranty period. All parts replaced under warranty become the property of Yamaha.

GENERAL EXCLUSIONS from this warranty shall include any failures to the machine caused by:

    1. Lack of proper setup and/or pre-delivery service by an authorized Yamaha dealer.
    2. Competition or racing use.
    3. Operation on surfaces other than snow or ice.
    4. Installation of parts or accessories that are not qualitatively equivalent to genuine Yamaha parts.

EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM WARRANTY (U.S.A. ONLY)
Yamaha also warrants to the ultimate purchaser and each subsequent purchaser of each applicable model Yamaha snowmobile covered by this warranty that the vehicle is designed, built, and equipped so as to conform at the time of sale with all U.S. emissions standards applicable at the time of manufacture and that it is free from defects in materials and workmanship which would cause it not to meet these standards within the period listed immediately below. WARRANTY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
    • Q. What costs are my responsibility during the warranty period?
      A. The customer's responsibility includes all costs of normal maintenance services, non-warranty repairs, accident and collision damages, as well as oil, spark plugs, clutch drive belts, and slide runners.

    • Q. What are some examples of "abnormal" strain, neglect, or abuse?
      A. These terms are general and overlap each other in areas. Specific examples include: Running the machine out of oil, hitting an object submerged under snow, operation on surfaces other than snow or ice, operating the machine with a broken or damaged part which causes another part to fail, and so on. If you have any specific questions on operation or maintenance, please contact your dealer for advice.

    • Q. May I perform any or all of the recommended maintenance shown in the Owner's Manual instead of having the dealer do them?
      A. Yes, if you are a qualified snowmobile mechanic and follow the procedures specified in the Owner's and Service Manual. We do recommend, however, that items requiring special tools or equipment be done by a Yamaha snowmobile dealer.

    • Q. Will the warranty be void or canceled if I do not operate or maintain my new Yamaha exactly as specified in the Owner's Manual?
      A. No. The warranty on a new Yamaha cannot be "voided" or "canceled." However, if a particular failure is caused by operation or maintenance other than as shown in the Owner's Manual, that failure may not be covered under warranty.

    • Q. Under what conditions is the clutch not covered by warranty?
      A. Clutches as well as clutch components wear with use. Normal wear is not covered under warranty and such service is the customer's responsibility. Abnormal wear is, however, covered for one (1) year from the date of purchase. Your Yamaha Snowmobile dealer possesses criteria as to what constitutes abnormal wear.

    • Q. What responsibility does my dealer have under this warranty?
      A. Each Yamaha Snowmobile dealer is expected to:
      1. Completely set up every new machine before sale.
      2. Explain the operation, maintenance, and warranty requirements to your satisfaction at the time of sale, and upon your request at any later date.
      3. In addition, each Yamaha snowmobile dealer is held responsible for his setup, service and warranty repair work.
    • Q. Whom should I contact if I have further questions about this warranty?
      A. Your Yamaha Snowmobile dealer has the information and experience necessary to answer almost any questions about this warranty. If the dealer is not able to do so, he is expected to contact Yamaha, for clarification or assistance.

If your machine requires warranty service, you must take it to any authorized Yamaha Snowmobile dealer within the continental United States or Canada. CHANGE OF ADDRESS

The federal government requires each manufacturer of a motor vehicle to maintain a complete, up-to-date list of all first purchasers against the possibility of a safety-related defect and recall. This list is compiled from the purchase registrations sent to Yamaha by the selling dealer at the time of your purchase.

If you should move after having purchased this snowmobile, please advise Yamaha of your new address by sending a post card listing your snowmobile model name, engine serial number, dealer number (or dealer's name) as it is shown on your warranty registration identification, your name and new mailing address. Mail to:

    YAMAHA MOTOR CANADA LTD.
    CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT
    480 GORDON BAKER RD
    Toronto, Ontario M2H 3B4

This will ensure that Yamaha has an up-to-date registration record in accordance with federal law.

PERFORMANCE

  • High Tech Turbo
The Nickel alloy turbine body is extremely strong and precise, able to withstand highly elevated temperatures. Supported by premium, ceramic ball bearings, the Inconel turbine blade assembly is very light and strong. This yields a low moment of inertia for lightning quick response to exhaust gas input. Triple throttle bodies are used exclusively to further enhance the quick delivery of compressed air from the impeller to intake valves.
  • Mitsubishi Electronic Control Unit
The Yamaha-developed Mitsubishi ECU uses a series of 9 sensors to gather running condition data which it computes using a predetermined memory 'map'. It then adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air-pressure and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance under any condition - reliably.
  • Triple Throttle Body Induction
Yamaha wanted an engine that's exceptionally quick to respond with little or no 'lag' as found in a conventional turbo. One of the ways they achieved their goal was to develop an intake system using three separate throttle bodies positioned very close to the intake valves. Instead of just one feeding long intake tubes ? something that is not seen in any other production turbo on the planet. And another first for Yamaha with the Genesis turbo.
  • Electronic Air Bypass Valve (ABV)
Unlike conventional turbo 'blow-off' valves, the Yamaha ABV redirects air pressure back into the intake side of the compressor to prevent surge and help maintain impeller speed, always at the ready for the next acceleration with seamless power delivery.
  • Liquid Cooled Turbo Body
Engine coolant is circulated through the turbocharger to control both under-hood temperature and help cool the intake charge. Upon engine shut down, the convection energy produced by super-heated coolant at the turbo head keeps it circulating without the coolant pump in operation. This eliminates the need for an engine cool down cycle while maintaining high durability in the turbo components.

HANDLING

  • Centralized Mass Design
The SRV chassis layout was engineered with the goal of centralizing mass. Approximately 60% of the sled's weight is tightly centered within the main triangulation. The result is a quick-handling, well balanced sled, that's fun to throw around in a wide variety of conditions.
  • Lightweight, Rigid SRV Chassis
The SRV chassis combines a load-bearing triangulated structure with lightweight aluminum construction to create a neutrally balanced sled that's centered on the rider. The pyramidal upper frame creates chassis strength without excessive weight.
  • Mountain Steering System
A dedicated, tall steering post delivers optimum ergonomics for standup riding. The 5.5" riser, with broad, molded, curved-end mountain bar and incorporated mountain strap delivers ample leverage for off-trail riding. The system is adjustable to dial in sweep and reach to help keep you in the sweet spot.
  • 6.5" Crossover Skis
The X-TX LE receives a new lightweight, single keel ski designed for deep snow floatation with precise handling traits in a wide variety of conditions including hard pack and groomed trail.

COMFORT

  • Heated Mountain Seat
Lightweight, with a tall and narrow profile, the X-TX mountain seat is both shorter and more tapered towards the front than our standard trail seat. This allows for easier rider transitions from side-to-side, and improved stand-up ergonomics. Included in-seat electric heat element for additional comfort in the cold and wet.
  • Stealth control system
The handle bar controls feature a left hand switch cluster which allows for 'on the fly' access to the IQS electronic suspension adjustments along with multi-step hand and thumb warmer adjusters. Information available on the multi-function gauge can be easily selected with a toggle switch and the push button reverse gear switch is also located in the left hand cluster. The right side of the bar is clean with an ergonomically shaped throttle lever and simple ,stand-alone emergency stop switch. An updated Hayes Stealth brake cylinder equipped with a composite Stealth brake lever provides greater modulation for better feel and powerful stopping performance.
  • 20" Tunnel bag
Additional storage is provided by a convenient new under-seat bag. It's semi-rigid design makes it easy to access and is water resistant to keep your spares safe and dry.
  • Push Button Electric Start
As with all Yamaha 4-stroke powered snowmobiles, there is no need to pull on a string to bring the engine to life. Easy electric starting is achieved through a simple handlebar mounted, glove friendly, push-button switch.
  • Push Button Reverse
Convenient handlebar positioning makes shifting to and from reverse easy with just the push of your thumb. A servo motor shifts the drivetrain into reverse simply and consistently. An audible warning beeper reminds you when you are still in reverse.
