Marine District Sales Manager (Quebec)

Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. currently seeks a Marine District Sales Manager - Quebec for our Sales Department.

Summary of Responsibilities

To implement Yamaha's sales and marketing policy for an assigned territory and to develop a dealer network capable of attaining corporate marketing objectives and policies for Yamaha Outboard and genuine Marine Parts, Accessories and Yamalube.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achieve fiscal year sales targets and complete booking orders by due date for outboard motors and (P&A) genuine marine parts, accessories and Yamalube. This includes maintaining and/or increasing wholesale, retail market shares and attaining corporate sales targets.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with Yamaha dealers and related Yamaha staff through, phone contact and scheduled dealer visits, ensuring effective communication and continuity in actions both internally and externally. Assume the expectation of frequent road travel within the territory to ensure that all dealers are to be contacted at least once per month and visited every 90 days. Territory top 20% volume dealers to be visited every 30 days.
  • Ensure for both P&A and dealer development (TSP) Territory Strategic Plan is evolving in the proper direction. Achieve dealer network set up target, by maintaining or replacing existing dealers and appointing new dealers in open areas. All dealer's performance (using Atlas database) to be discussed every 90 days, complete with recommendation and plans for improvement or maintenance. Track (KPI) Key Performance Index of TSP and report status updates monthly.
  • Ensure Yamaha products (including genuine Marine Parts, Accessories and Yamalube) are frequently and effectively promoted through dealer display, advertising, participation in trade and consumer shows. Increase potential of existing dealers by providing guidance, business advice and implementation of sales and marketing programs/promotions.
  • Create solid relationships with OEM boat builder partners and work closely to cultivate new opportunities within the territory. Dedicate time each quarter to travel and prospect new dealers with boat builder partner representatives ? report results.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders and the dealer network, research new business opportunities, develop and support Special Markets (camp, government, commercial, rental) in the territory.
  • Represent Yamaha with participation in all required Corporate trade, consumer shows and support dealers at local and regional events.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma preferred, Business, Marketing or related
  • Recreation boating industry and knowledge of Yamaha marine products, 5-10 years

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization, planning skills and manage own time effectively.
  • Oral and written communication skills with natural ability to build solid working business relationships, fluency in French and English is required.
  • The ability to problem-solving and have strong analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information.
  • Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Committed to superior customer service.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • A valid driver's license and boat operator's card
