Sales Manager, Marine OEM & Special Markets

Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. currently seeks a Sales Manager, Marine OEM & Special Markets for our Sales & Marketing Department.

Summary of Responsibilities

Develop and strengthen Yamaha Marine brand through Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) boat builders and Special Markets business partners. Identify objectives, develop strategies and implement action plans to ensures consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders, field staff and OEM boat builder business partners. Jointly develop marketing strategy, dealer network and provide all business related support to achieve Corporate sales objectives.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with business partners by frequent contact and market visits. Key accounts should be contacted or visited on a monthly basis.
  • Administer all marketing activities involving OEM boat builder business partners with regards to dealer meetings, consumer shows, media and use of marketing funds.
  • Develop Federal and Provincial business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
  • Manage all government tenders and Standing Offers submissions for Yamaha marine products. Working with Special Markets Coordinator insure administration processes are properly maintained.
  • Generate National OEM and Special Markets quarterly report. Highlighting results, successes, challenges and action plan progress.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Business administration or relevant field
  • Yamaha Marine product knowledge, Recreational Boating Industry, Marine Special Markets (Government, Commercial and Camp), Minimum 5-10 years

Skills and Abilities

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and manage own time effectively.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills with natural ability to build solid working business relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in developing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Ability to communicate marine product features and consumer benefits.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • A valid driver's license and boat operator's card.
