Regional Sales Manager (Ontario/Manitoba )

Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. currently seeks a Regional Sales Manager for our Sales & Marketing Department.

Summary of Responsibilities

To achieve sales targets by product lines as assigned, develop optimal dealer network and manage, direct and motivate field sales force.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achieve fiscal year sales targets. This includes maintaining and/or increasing wholesale and retail market shares based on based on the corporate plan. Complete booking orders for Motorcycle, All Terrain Vehicle, Snowmobile, Off-Road Vehicle and Power Products
  • Manage, direct, train, motivate and communicate with regional field sales force. Travel with each District Sales Manager (DSM) once per year, conduct a monthly review of all call reports including comments. Review job performance on a six month basis. Hold weekly DSM meetings, and complete one (1) Regional Meeting minimum per calendar year.
  • Based on the current condition of the Market Area, coach DSM to work closely with existing dealers and/or prospective dealers to ensure we are moving our dealer development Territory Strategic Plan (TSP) in the proper direction. Track KPI of TSP and report status updates monthly.
  • Ensure Yamaha products are frequently and effectively promoted through dealer advertising, participation in trade and consumer shows and Yamaha promotions. Represent Yamaha by participation in trade and consumer shows, demo days, local user groups, clubs and events.
  • Drive Business to Business (B2B) opportunities within dealer network. Review the sales programs and ensure the dealer staff has a solid understanding and how to submit claims. Discuss unique opportunities with National Managers. Report knowledge of current and/or potential B2B opportunities.
  • Attend consumer, corporate and dealer shows and regional head office sales meetings as required. Prepare a brief report on each event.
  • Work cohesively with Parts and Accessories team, within the territory, to help ensure that Parts and Accessories participation and corporate sales targets are being met.
  • Maintain and adhere to an annual budget for department expenses. Request authorization from the Manager, Field Sales Operations additional funds as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma preferred, Business or related
  • Sales or Marketing, 4+ years preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Effective leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Excellent organization, communication and computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Yamaha products and related dealership experience
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
