Marketing Events Coordinator (1 year contract)

Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. currently seeks a candidate for the position of Marketing Events Coordinator for a 1 year contract for our Marketing Department.

Summary of Responsibilities

Co-ordinate activities associated with our participation in consumer/trade shows and dealer conferences. Evaluate and administer all cross promotional opportunities. Assist in the management of corporate sponsorships.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate of all corporate events, consumer shows, demo rides etc. This includes overseeing of event contracts, marketing support materials, staffing schedules, internal and external communications, transportation of displays, product etc. Ensure events adhere to budgetary parameters and brand strategies.
  • Oversee all cross promotional opportunities. Review and share recommendations. Initiate new opportunities, proof promotional materials, coordinate giveaways and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Assist in the execution of special projects as required.
  • Coordinate the reservation of and the timely sale of all loan units required to support the event requirements
  • Maintain an up to date and accurate "Annual Event Schedule"
  • Assist the marketing events coordinator in the management of corporate sponsorships. Review opportunities, draft letters of agreements and ensure all important aspects of these agreements are performed as negotiated.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • University or College degree preferred
  • Event Management experience
  • Motorsports experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, PPT, and Excel)
  • Time management and strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills work with internal staff, dealers & consumers
  • Required to move or position materials up to 30kg weight.
  • Possession of: motorcycle, marine, snowmobile and ATV off-road license(s) and or skills training considered an asset.
  • Enthusiasm for Yamaha product and industry considered an asset.
  • Ability to work regular overtime on evenings and weekend.
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
  • Assess challenges and situations at field events and provide efficient solutions
