LAST YEAR'S MODEL

2010 FX Nytro M-TX SE 162

Ultimate Lightweight Mountain Performance

NEW FEATURES

  • PRO MOUNTAIN AIR REAR SUSPENSION

A new lightweight semi-coupled "Pro Mountain Air" rear skid frame uses two specially designed Fox Float air shocks to eliminate the need for heavy torsion and coil springs. The folks at Fox designed a new FLOAT 2 XV for the rear with an added cylinder for extra air volume, which essentially increases the spring rate capacity of the shock. It is this new shock that has allowed us to remove the steel torsion springs without any negative side effects. In fact this new rear suspension is not only lighter, but out performs the old torsion skid frame in every way!

  • LIGHTER SKID FRAME

Continuing the diet, we dropped the heavy control rods and outer idler wheels and "honeycombed" the rails a little shave weight, but not to the point where durability would be compromised. The whole suspension package is so wide open, it won't trap snow as much as the old skid did.

  • NEW TRACK APPROACH ANGLE

The approach angle has gone from 24 degrees to 18 degrees, which will help with traction, floatation and the sled's ability to carry forward momentum. This alone is a huge step forward.

  • NEW LIGHTWEIGHT NARROW TUNNEL

An 11-degree pitch to the running boards to improve ground clearance for deep snow capability, and larger cutouts to help evacuate snow, the new lightweight tunnel on the M-TX SE provides more footing and less drag when the snow gets deep. This is the most aggressive and lightweight design for Yamaha to date.

  • REVISED FRONT SUSPENSION GEOMETRY

Both Nytro M-TX SE's get the updated generation 2 front suspension originally found on the short track versions. Along with the new front geometry is a pair of the latest lightweight Fox Float 2 air shocks. These geometry changes improve predictability and stability, and allow for flatter cornering. Steering effort is more consistent, while bump steer is reduced. Tracking and darting are also reduced. This all adds up to improved confidence, no matter where you ride.

  • FOX FLOAT 2 FRONT SHOCKS

With new maximum air volume bearings, specifically tuned negative springs and high flow aluminum pistons with improved tolerances, the new Float 2 allows flatter cornering while maintaining ride plushness with higher air volume. The negative spring provides a plusher ride in the initial travel.

  • 15" x 162" x 2.25" CAMOPLAST® MAVERICK™ TRACK

Yamaha and Camoplast® collaborated in the design of the Maverick™ track. This is a new modified lightweight version which still features a 3-inch pitch, and now has new durometer lugs that are notched for improved traction, floatation and durability.

STANDARD FEATURES

  • GENESIS 130FI 4-STROKE ENGINE

The FX Nytro M-TX SE has the same fast-revving, high-torque Genesis engine that is world renowned for incredible reliability and durability. A lightweight fuel injected 1050cc 3-cylinder engine that produces so much torque from almost any rpm, you'll catch yourself repeatedly punching the throttle just to feel how hard it pulls. To have such control over the power delivery is addictive. Instantaneous throttle response tied directly to your thumb. And with Yamaha's Engine Braking Reduction System, throttle transitions are smooth, with just enough engine braking to enhance the ride experience.

  • ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION

Electronically controlled throttle bodies read your thumb almost before you slam the throttle lever to the bar. Computerized circuitry recognizes barometric pressure, ambient temperature, throttle position, engine rpm and everything else that matters to get you up to speed—immediately.

  • OIL SAVINGS

No matter how you slice it, a 2-stroke engine is a 100% oil loss system — you pour it in, the sled spews it out. Yamaha 4-stroke engines don't use injection oil, so you're not always chasing the next quart. Look at the savings you'll enjoy with a Yamaha 4-stroke versus a 2-stroke engine!

  • TALL, WIDE, HOOKED MOUNTAIN HANDLEBARS

To match the tall and forward position, a single-piece, dual-hooked handlebar is standard fare on the FX Nytro M-TX SE. The hooks have the same grip material as the main bar section, for consistent control, regardless of hand position on the grip. Mountain riders will appreciate the center grab strap when it's time for sidehilling.

  • STANDARD ELECTRIC START AND REVERSE

Yamaha's electric starter system allows consumers to fire up their FX Nytro M-TX with the turn of a key. There is no pulling on a nylon cord to get this high-tech engine growling! Electric start is a standard feature on all of Yamaha's 4-stroke machines. The FX Nytro M-TX comes standard with reverse to help consumers get their sled off the trailer.

  • LIGHTWEIGHT CF DIECAST FX™ CHASSIS

The integration of the chaincase into the chassis member is one of the benefits of Yamaha's exclusive Controlled Flow die casting technology. By reducing the small air bubbles in the metal as it's cast, engineers can design thinner walled and more complex components to the point that a whole chaincase can be cast into the chassis.

  • OVER-THE-ENGINE STEERING

The snocross-proven over-the-engine steering configuration on all FX Nytro's give the rider excellent posture on the sled. It also allows the engine to be tucked deep into the chassis for optimum balance and mass centralization which contributes to the sled's overall handling characteristic.

  • DIGITAL GAUGE

The FX Nytro's digital gauge displays key information at a glance. Vehicle speed is displayed on a large LCD readout either in miles or kilometers per hour. In addition, the rider can select tachometer, odometer or tripmeter data to appear on secondary readout. The gauge also displays system warning lights; fuel level, warmer intensity so that the rider can monitor the sled's operation easily.

  • ENGINE BRAKING REDUCTION SYSTEM

The Genesis 130FI features the unique Engine Braking Reduction System. The system allows a small amount of air to pass through the fuel injection system when the throttle is released, giving riders a smooth "coast" feeling when they release the throttle.
