Q. What are the benefits of leasing?

A. It is estimated that up to 30% of all assets in Canada used for business purposes are leased, and 80% of Canadian companies report that they lease some or all of their equipment. These customers enjoy many benefits of leasing such as:

  • 100% Financing
    In most cases there is no need for a down payment.
  • Reduce Taxes
    Leasing should be 100% tax deductible, thereby greatly increasing the after tax benefits.
  • Affordable
    Leasing allows businesses to acquire revenue producing assets sooner, thereby allowing profits to grow now, not later.
  • Preserve Bank Lines
    Bank credit is often difficult to get and should be used for operating expenses, not tied up in long-term assets. As well, most loans require an increase in owner equity, something that is not required in a lease.
  • Pay Taxes Monthly
    Who likes to pay tax bills sooner than they have to? If you buy, PST and GST are due at the time of the sale. Leasing allows customers to remit those taxes on a monthly basis.
  • Residual Leasing
    Allows customers to pay for only a portion of the depreciation over the lease term. This minimizes your monthly payments and allows for payment of the residual value with money whose value is reduced over time by the effects of inflation.
