Summary of Responsibilities

Yamaha relationship builder that will lead the activities of the Warranty Department including overseeing the maintenance and implementation of warranty policies and procedures on new and existing products as well as required system maintenance, reporting and budgeting. Ensure the department is operating successfully and make improvements, if needed, with management input. Collaborate with management on business processes, objectives, KPI’s, scheduling and performance reviews.


Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in the training, appraisal and development of reporting staff, co-ordinate daily activities, and special projects as required. Through effective communication and direction ensure growth and continuity in achieving department and corporate goals.
  • Oversee in the development, organization, implementation and distribution of warranty policies and procedures on new and existing products. This also involves preparing warranty publications and/or documents, including proof reading (i.e. warranty and technical bulletins, owner’s warranty guides). Analyze the impact of new policies on department, company, dealers, and customers.
  • Ensure an effective internal control system is implemented within the department. This includes the documentation of all key business processes, implementation of formal review and approval systems and the maintenance of all documentation required to satisfy internal and external auditors that effective controls are in place within the department.
  • Assist in the development of a mid-term plan and annual schedule of all warranty activities, training, monitor progress on a quarterly basis and provide management with reports which will provide information on participation rates and other relevant statistics.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication within the division through daily interaction with staff, regular staff meetings and by ensuring all staff possess’ the information required to be effective in their position.
  • Assist and participate in corporate shows, service seminars and special events as required.
  • Assist and participate in new dealer on-boarding, training, and new employee training.
Education Requirements and/or Experience Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma: Undergraduate degree/college diploma/mechanical certification or equivalent combination of experience
  • Program of Study: Technical/Business//Mechanics/Engineering
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 years experience preferred
  • Type of Experience: Technical/Business/Mechanical/Engineering
Skills & Abilities
  • Time management and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Command of English/French preferred (written and verbal).
  • Enthusiasm for Motor Sports Industry is considered an asset.
